Nutmeg

Nutmeg, an evergreen tree reaching heights of up to 60 feet, produces two prized spices: the dark-hued nutmeg and the vibrant red mace that enshrouds it. Major import markets for nutmeg include the European Community, United States, Japan, and India, with Singapore and the Netherlands serving as significant hubs for re-exportation.

At VPro, we supply nutmeg and mace year-round in both small and bulk quantities. Leveraging our well-maintained warehouses, we are able to export these spices during both peak and off-peak seasons. Our commitment to safe and punctual delivery is reflected in the meticulous packaging of our spice products, which are encased in hygienic jute bags.

As a prominent exporter and supplier of nutmeg originating from India, we meticulously conduct quality tests to assess the excellence of our product. Our pride lies in offering premium-quality whole nutmegs sourced from India to the international market. We specialize in exporting and supplying AB and ABCD grade whole nutmegs from India, ensuring that the color, flavor, taste, aroma, shape, and size align with the specific variety you purchase from us.

Presently, India stands as the second-largest producer of nutmeg globally, trailing slightly behind Indonesia in terms of volume. The annual production of nutmeg in India amounts to 16,000 metric tons, with Kerala contributing over 90% of this output. The primary nutmeg-growing states in India include Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, with cultivation concentrated in the districts of Thrissur, Ernakulam, and Kottayam in Kerala. The climatic conditions of Kerala are particularly conducive to nutmeg cultivation. Additionally, nutmeg is also grown in the Kanyakumari and Tirunelveli districts of Tamil Nadu.
